This guide will walk you through the essential steps to start your shift, accept trips, communicate with support, take required breaks, and wrap up your day properly. Following these procedures helps ensure compliance, efficiency, and reliability on every ride.

Log In to Required Systems
You are responsible for logging in to all required platforms.
Alto Driver App (Time Management)
- Open the Alto Driver App
- Log in using your credentials
- Complete the in-app checklist
Uber App (Accepting Trips)
- Log in to the Uber Driver App
- Confirm license plate and vehicle details
- Ensure your status shows Online
Zello (Communication)
- Open the Zello App
- Test your microphone
- Confirm you can hear dispatch
Go Online & Start Taking Trips
Once logged in and ready:
- Go online in the Uber App
- Wait for trip requests
- Listen for the headset chime
- Review trip details
- Tap Accept or allow auto-accept after 30 seconds
Repositioning Offers
Repositioning offers help direct you to high-demand areas.
- Review the suggested area
- Accept the offer if available
- Drive to the recommended location
Following repositioning offers increases your chances of receiving trips.
Taking Required Breaks
To remain compliant and avoid missed break reports, always follow break procedures.
How to Go Offline
- Open the Uber Driver App
- Tap You’re Online at the bottom of the map
- Select Go Offline
If You Are Finishing a Trip
- Tap the three lines in the bottom-right corner
- Select Stop New Requests
- Complete your trip
- Go offline
Recording Breaks
- Go offline in both Uber and Alto apps
- Take your full break
- Mark your break correctly in the Alto App

End-of-Shift Reminders
Before leaving:
- Return vehicle and equipment
- Log out of all apps
- Report any vehicle issues
- Confirm your next scheduled shift
