A Safety Score is a metric used to evaluate your driving safety based on factors such as speeding, hard braking, rolling stops, harsh acceleration, and sharp turns (called harsh events). We use Samsara dashcams and telematics technology to monitor these behaviors. Scores are calculated on a scale from 0 to 100, with 100 being ideal (no safety infractions).
Safety Scores help keep everyone safe: you, your passengers, and others on the road. It helps us identify and coach risky driving behaviors, so drivers can improve.
How to earn a Safety Bonus
Safety is our top priority at Alto, and we reward drivers who maintain a 100% Safety Score. Drivers with a perfect score are automatically entered into a weekly drawing, and two drivers are randomly selected to receive a $100 bonus on their paycheck.
Driving smoothly, following traffic laws, and avoiding harsh events are the best ways to keep your Safety Score at 100% and increase your chances of winning.
