To remain an active employee with Alto, drivers are required to work a minimum of 4 hours every 30 days. This requirement helps ensure drivers remain active in the system and eligible to pick up shifts.
What counts toward the 4-hour requirement
Any worked shift time counts toward the minimum requirement. As long as you work at least 4 total hours within a 30-day period, you will remain active.
Part-time and pickup-shift-only drivers
Drivers may choose to work part-time on a pickup-shift-only schedule. If you plan to do this, you may set your availability to 0 hours and pick up shifts when available.
Even if you are working pickup shifts only, you must still meet the 4-hour minimum within 30 days to remain active.
What happens if you do not meet the requirement
If you do not work at least 4 hours within a 30-day period and do not have an approved leave of absence, you may be processed as a job abandonment. This may result in separation from employment and removal of access to the driver platform.
Life events, emergencies, or extended time away
If you experience a life event, emergency, medical situation, or other circumstance that would prevent you from meeting the 4-hour requirement, you must submit a leave of absence request. An approved leave of absence protects your employment status while you are unable to work.
