You must submit sick time through the Alto Driver App. If sick time is submitted outside of the Driver App, it may not be applied correctly. Approved sick time is typically paid on the following paycheck, depending on payroll timing.
Sick Time by Location
California Drivers
- Sick time may be used for covered medical and protected reasons
- Accrual: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 72 hours
- Accrual begins on your first day of employment
- Sick time may be used after 90 days
- Unused sick time carries over, subject to state caps
- Sick time is not paid out at termination
Texas & Miami Drivers
- Accrued sick time may be used for personal or qualifying reasons
- Accrual: 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 64 hours
- Sick time may be used after 90 days
- Up to 64 hours may carry over year to year
- Sick time is not paid out at termination
